Frequently Asked Questions

  • Lessons are typically 1-1.5 hours long. If you opt to take lessons bi-weekly or schedule-as-you-go, your lessons will more likely be 1.5-2 hours long.

  • We only share our pricing with seriously interested prospective students. If you are interested in taking lessons with us, please fill out our contact form (above) and we will schedule a time to meet with you.

  • Yes! Check out our Pre-College Program.

  • Absolutely not! We love working with adults who are just starting their journey towards learning a musical instrument.

  • We do not force our students to perform in recitals. We do, however, create opportunities for our students to share music with one another and with their friends and families, if they wish to do so.

  • This depends on each individual student. We work with you to create a practice schedule and plan that fits your schedule. On average, an adult starting lessons for the first time, or an adult coming back to lessons after a long time away, can expect to start out with practicing 15-30 minutes daily.

  • Music theory has gotten a bad rap because of how it is traditionally presented and taught to students. We teach music theory in a completely different way, and you will be pleasantly surprised to realize that you are learning the theoretical side of music without having to read books or complete worksheets.

  • Absolutely not! We are well versed in various styles of music and can help you to build skill and technique in any musical style that you wish to learn.

  • We love teaching virtual lessons! We find that many adults enjoy the flexibility and convenience of taking a lesson in the comfort of their home in a space where they feel at ease and comfortable. We send you a Zoom link for your scheduled lesson time and you can log in from your laptop, tablet, or mobile device. You do not need any special equipment or software.

  • This depends on your goals and schedule. We offer three basic options: weekly lessons, bi-weekly lessons, and schedule-as-you-go lessons. When we meet with you, we will help you to determine which frequency is best for you.
